Starbucks is ready for its annual celebration of pumpkin spice enthusiasm, marking its fall season with a fresh lineup of beverages and snacks set to entice both loyal fans and newcomers alike. Starting tomorrow, patrons can indulge in not only the anticipated Pumpkin Spice Latte—the center of attention for nearly two decades—but also a curated selection of novel and returning favorites.
The coffee giant has unveiled a slimmer fall menu this year compared to past years, but it still offers a variety of options. Among the new offerings, the Pecan Oatmilk Cortado stands out, promising a unique blend of roasted pecan flavors with espresso, presented hot for the seasonal chill. Complementing the cortado is the reappearance of the beloved Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai. The Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte also returns, each beverage adorned with distinct flavors reminiscent of autumn.
While the Pumpkin Spice Latte remains Starbucks' most favored seasonal drink, made with espresso, steamed milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, whipped cream, and pumpkin pie spices, the new menu items reflect an evolving palette, expanding beyond the classic pumpkin offerings. In response to changing tastes,
is not only focusing on pumpkin-centric beverages but also introducing the Italian Sausage Egg Bites, infused with sundried tomato pesto, basil, eggs, Monterey Jack cheese, and crumbled sausage. This autumn, Starbucks invites customers to its Reserve Roastery or stores for exclusive autuminal choices, such as the Tiramisu Latte, alongside seasonal cocktails like the Pumpkin Spice Whiskey Barrel-Aged Manhattan and Cold Brew, providing specialized indulgences for those seeking elevated festive flavors.
Social media once more plays a significant role in spreading the pumpkin spice fervor. After reactivating its @TheRealPSL Instagram account, Starbucks reconnects with its audience, reviving a once-viral archive of pumpkin spice passion. This move seeks to engage the brand's fanbase and leverage their enthusiasm for future product introductions.
Further extending the seasonal experience, Starbucks is initiating a pilot phase with coconut water-based drinks at selected U.S. locations. The Coco Cold Brew and Coco Matcha, both integrating coconut water, aim to capture the attention of health-conscious consumers exploring alternatives to standard coffee beverages. This innovation reflects Starbucks' effort to advance health and wellness initiatives in its offerings, despite competition from other brands with similar concepts.
Available at approximately 400 locations nationwide, including selected spots in New York City, Los Angeles, Cedar Rapids, St. Louis, and Milwaukee, the coconut water-based drinks emphasize Starbucks' commitment to innovation while offering seasonal delights. Thus, customers can either savor the remnants of summer with the Coco Matcha or embrace fall's warmth through a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol highlighted the strategic importance of the PSL during the company's earnings call on July 29, underscoring its significance to the brand's revenue and consumer draw. Despite having experienced a 2% decline in U.S. sales for the third quarter ending June 29, Starbucks anticipates the fall menu will stimulate an upswing in customer visits, invigorated by the return of the PSL and the advent of enticing new offerings.
The fall menu's revival is poised to support Starbucks in mitigating challenges in sales and foot traffic, with Niccol confident that a surging influx of customers will appreciate the seasonal offerings the brand has curated. As the roster of beverages and treats are expected to drive significant consumer engagement, Starbucks continues to uphold its tradition of welcoming autumn with signature warmth and flavor.
