The Spark Protocol has launched the first phase of its Ignition Airdrop, a pivotal moment in the distribution of its governance token, SPK. This airdrop follows the pre-farming campaign and involves the distribution of 300 million SPK tokens to eligible users. These users must have deposited stablecoins worth $5,000 or more via the Fluid platform on networks such as Ethereum Mainnet, Base, and Arbitrum. The claiming process is exclusively available on the Ethereum Mainnet, and users can verify their eligibility through the Spark Airdrop eligibility portal, which is now live.

To ensure they receive their tokens, eligible participants must stake at least their total allocation of SPK from the Ignition airdrop by a specified date. The Ignition Phase 1 eligibility checker is now live, allowing users to see if they qualify for the airdrop. This phase is crucial as it sets the stage for the subsequent distribution phases, ensuring that users who have actively participated in the ecosystem are rewarded accordingly.

The Spark Protocol's Ignition Airdrop is designed to incentivize users who have engaged in USDS-centric activities within the DeFi ecosystem. Eligible tokens for the airdrop include USDS, sUSDS, sUSDC, sDAI, xDAI, and SAI. Users who have lent these tokens on SparkLend and other DeFi platforms earn "Ignition units," which determine their share of the airdrop. Snapshots were taken on specific dates in 2023, 2024, and 2025 across multiple networks to assess user eligibility.

The total supply of the SPK token is 1 billion, with 17% allocated to pre-mining farmers and the Ignition airdrop. This distribution strategy aims to foster community engagement and ensure the long-term sustainability of the Spark Protocol ecosystem. Users who claim their SPK tokens will have the opportunity to stake them immediately, further integrating them into the protocol's governance and earning mechanisms.

The Ignition Airdrop is a strategic move by Spark Protocol to catalyze user participation and strengthen its position in the DeFi landscape. By rewarding users who have shown commitment to the protocol, Spark Protocol aims to build a robust and engaged community. The airdrop not only distributes tokens but also encourages users to stake their SPK, thereby contributing to the protocol's liquidity and governance. This initiative underscores Spark Protocol's commitment to fostering a vibrant and active DeFi ecosystem.
