Space and Time Launches Mainnet, Enabling Secure Data-Driven Crypto Applications

Space and Time, a blockchain platform backed by Microsoft, has launched its public, permissionless mainnet. This platform is designed to deliver zero-knowledge (ZK)-proven data to smart contracts, enabling a new generation of data-driven crypto applications. The platform indexes data from major blockchains, including Ethereum, and stores it across a decentralized network of database validators. Developers can access, query, and connect this data back to their smart contracts using Proof of SQL, Space and Time’s sub-second ZK coprocessor for SQL database queries.
Prior to the launch of Space and Time, onchain applications faced significant challenges in querying basic user data from a database of blockchain activity without introducing security risks and tampering. Enterprises also lacked a secure way to connect their cloud databases with smart contracts. With the mainnet launch of Space and Time, developers can now build sophisticated, data-driven onchain applications secured by cryptographic proofs. This advancement is expected to empower the next wave of onchain innovation, including dynamic financial instruments, data-rich AI agents, and tokenized real-world systems.
Space and Time was created by MakeInfinite Labs, a frontier protocol research lab backed by Microsoft and collaborating with major financial institutions. The lab has developed key technologies for the broader crypto ecosystem, such as Proof of SQL, Blitzar, an Elastic Network ZK Chain for Space and Time, and Chainlink DeFi Yield Index. The firm's focus is on building foundational infrastructure to enable the next generation of crypto applications, contributing core technologies like Proof of SQL and the original architecture of Space and Time.
Space and Time is secured by a decentralized set of validators, and anyone can contribute to the network by providing high-quality datasets, staking, or running a validator node. The platform aims to provide a verifiable, decentralized database network that gives smart contracts the ability to query the full history of Ethereum and beyond. This capability is crucial for the development of complex data retrieval applications, which are essential for the next wave of onchain innovation.
MakeInfinite Labs, the creator of Space and Time, has raised $50 million from Microsoft’s M12 Ventures and other leading investors. The lab is dedicated to building infrastructure that enables developers and creators to build data-driven applications, tokenize and monetize, and win in the AI economy. The launch of Space and Time on the mainnet marks a significant milestone in the development of data-driven crypto applications, providing a secure and verifiable database layer for smart contracts.
