Southern Silver Exploration Corp. (TSXV: SSV) has recently provided a corporate update, highlighting its progress and future plans in the mining sector. The company's focus on quality assets in significant mineralized trends, close to infrastructure, has positioned it well for growth and increased shareholder value.

Southern Silver's flagship project, Cerro Las Minitas, has seen significant advancements. The company recently announced an updated Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) with an after-tax NPV5% of US$501M and an IRR of 21.2%. This represents a substantial improvement over the previous assessment, driven by factors such as increased mineral reserves, improved metallurgical recoveries, and optimized mine planning.

The updated PEA also reveals key operational and economic improvements, including a mine life of 12 years, average annual production of 4.6 million ounces of silver, 40 million pounds of lead, and 110 million pounds of zinc. Capital costs have been reduced to US$132 million, further enhancing the project's attractiveness.

Recent drilling results and geological findings have contributed to the updated PEA's positive outlook. The company has intersected high-grade mineralization, expanding the known mineralized zones and increasing the project's resource potential. These findings have not only improved the project's economics but also provided valuable insights into the geological setting, enabling more informed decision-making.

Southern Silver's recent financing has raised C$4.5 million, providing the company with a strong exploration budget. This will enable the completion of a 6000-meter diamond drilling program at Cerro Las Minitas, approved in September 2024. The increased exploration budget also allows the company to advance its other projects, such as Oro and Hermanas, further enhancing its portfolio.

The financing has positively impacted Southern Silver's market capitalization and shareholder value. The company's low operating costs and increased market capitalization make it an attractive investment opportunity in the mining sector. As the company continues to develop its projects and create value for shareholders, investors can expect a bright future for Southern Silver.
