Solaris Resources Inc. (TSX: SLS; NYSE: SLSR) has announced the formation of an Inter-Institutional working group with the Pueblo Shuar Arutam organization (PSHA), ratified through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) on February 5, 2025. This collaboration, which also includes host communities of Warints and Yawi and the Ecuadorian State, is a significant step forward in the company's commitment to open dialogue, partnership, and mutual respect with indigenous populations.
The LOI ratifies the formation of an Inter-Institutional working group, aimed at developing transparent dialogue processes and workshops to promote the signing of a future Cooperation Agreement. This agreement is expected to advance dialogue and reach a future cooperation agreement under the consent of the communities. The PSHA, located in the southeast of the province Morona Santiago, is made up of nearly ten thousand people organized into 47 Shuar centers.
The formation of this working group builds upon existing agreements, such as the Impacts and Benefits Agreement (IBA) with the local Shuar Centres of Warints and Yawi. These agreements provide certainty of community support for the responsible advancement of the Warintza Project from exploration and development through to production. The IBA is a major milestone in the company's innovative corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which sets the precedent for industry best practice for inclusive and mutually beneficial resource development in partnership with Indigenous Peoples.
Solaris Resources is pleased to announce the conclusion of its infill drilling program, encompassing over 75,000m in 2024 and a further 5,000m in early 2025. This program focused on converting Inferred mineral resources to Measured and Indicated categories and expanding the remaining uncategorized areas within the pit shell. The data gathered from this drilling will form the basis for the updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), expected mid-2025. This updated MRE will be included in the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), due to be released in Q3 2025.
The company's President and CEO, Matthew Rowlinson, commented on the significance of this collaboration: "At solaris resources, we believe that sustainable mining is not just an economic endeavour; it is a journey that must include the insights and values of every stakeholder involved, especially our indigenous populations. Their lived experiences and deep connection to the land are vital to shaping responsible mining practices that respect both our natural environment and cultural heritage. As we move forward, it's vital we embrace an open dialogue and partnership rooted in trust, understanding, and mutual respect. Together, we continue to create a model for mining that not only drives economic growth but also uplifts our communities and preserves the rich tapestry of the Ecuadorian culture."

This collaboration with the PSHA and other stakeholders highlights Solaris Resources' commitment to responsible mining practices and maintaining a strong social license to operate. By embracing an open dialogue and partnership rooted in trust, understanding, and mutual respect, the company demonstrates its dedication to creating a mining model that benefits all stakeholders, including the local communities and the environment.
In conclusion, Solaris Resources' signing of the Letter of Intent with the PSHA is a significant step forward in the company's commitment to responsible mining and maintaining a strong social license to operate. This collaboration, along with the conclusion of the infill drilling program and the expected update to the Mineral Resource Estimate, positions the company well for the future as it continues to develop the Warintza Project in Ecuador.
