Solana Mobile has officially begun shipping its latest Web3 smartphone, the Seeker, to over 50 countries worldwide. The rollout, which started on August 4, 2025, follows a robust pre-order campaign that generated more than 150,000 units of demand, a significant jump from the 20,000 units sold by its predecessor, the Saga [1]. This expansion highlights the company’s growing presence in the blockchain-integrated mobile space and reflects increasing global interest in hardware solutions designed for the decentralized web.
The Seeker smartphone is specifically built for the Web3 environment. It comes with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet, a decentralized app (dApp) store, and seamless integration with the Solana blockchain. These features allow users to manage digital assets, interact with decentralized finance (DeFi) services, and play blockchain-based games—all from a single device. The phone is equipped with a high-performance chipset, optimized to handle both everyday mobile tasks and resource-heavy blockchain operations, such as fast and low-cost transactions facilitated by Solana’s network [1].
One of the standout features of the Seeker is its implementation of TEEPIN’s three-layer security architecture. This system includes hardware-level encryption, decentralized identity management, and network-layer support through the Solana blockchain. By securing private keys and digital assets at the hardware level, the phone offers enhanced security for users engaging in Web3 activities and supports the secure development of decentralized mobile applications [1].
In addition to hardware innovation, Solana Mobile has announced plans for a native token, SKR, which will serve as the backbone of the Seeker ecosystem. The SKR token will reward developers for building dApps and NFTs, incentivize user participation, and support decentralized governance. Holders will have the ability to vote on key decisions, including development priorities and resource allocation. SKR will also function as a medium of exchange for transactions, app purchases, and other economic activities within the ecosystem [1]. Although the token has not yet launched, Solana Mobile has issued warnings about potential scams, including fake airdrops and pre-sale offers, urging users to rely solely on official channels for accurate information.
The Seeker’s strong pre-order numbers and global availability suggest a growing market for blockchain-integrated smartphones. As the adoption of Web3 technologies continues to evolve, the Seeker represents a shift in how mobile devices are used, transforming them from traditional communication tools into gateways for decentralized digital experiences [1]. This move could further accelerate the integration of blockchain into everyday technology and expand access to decentralized services for a broader audience.
