Solana News Today: Man Attempts 700 Tattoos of Solana Launchpad Name for World Record

An Australian man, Zachary Gollan, is attempting to break the world record for the most tattoos of the same name by inking the name of the popular Solana launchpad, Pump.fun, on himself 700 times. This stunt is part of his broader plan to transition into a full-time livestreamer with a virtual tattoo studio. Gollan, also known as Donnie Darko on X, has already tattooed “Pump.fun” on his arm 415 times and aims to reach 700 during a livestream on Saturday. If successful, he will surpass the current record holder, who has “Lucy” inked 667 times on his skin. Gollan has applied to be officially considered for the Guinness World Record.

Currently working as a full-time removalist in Sydney, Gollan aspires to become a full-time tattoo content creator and livestreamer. He chose Pump.fun because of its revenue-sharing feature, which he believes will help him build a virtual tattoo studio business online. In the future, he plans to tattoo custom designs on artificial limbs for individuals or projects, shipping them out as one-of-a-kind pieces. Gollan has been livestreaming for a few hours every day since he launched PUMPINK five days ago, tattooing himself and chatting with the community.

Gollan specifically chose to permanently tattoo Pump.fun as it would become an excuse to talk about his project. He believes that even in situations like a hospital visit or an arrest, the curiosity sparked by his tattoos would lead people to search for Pump.fun, directing more viewers and traffic to the platform and his projects channel. Gollan has a criminal history including alcohol-related violence and carrying weapons in public, from a period of his life when he was part of a biker club—a recognized criminal organization in Australia. He said that he has left all that behind years ago, but it still affects him from time to time.

Australia's licensing laws prevent individuals from opening tattoo studios if they are a member or associate of a criminal organization, which his old biker group was. The law caused Gollan to quit professional tattooing a few years back, after which he worked for a spell as a truck driver and, more recently, a removalist. He claims to have tattooed 75% of his own body already, excluding his right arm and back due to logistical issues. Gollan shared images of his past work, which expands beyond tattooing the same word 700 times—mostly black and grey realism.

Once Gollan's world record attempt is complete, along with livestreaming under the PUMPINK token, he plans to try for another record. He said the next record attempt will either be “most hashtags tattooed on the body,” etching #PUMPINK all over his body, or the “most tattoos of the same cartoon character,” most likely from a meme coin or NFT collection. Gollan aims to break at least five or six records before the end of the year.
