Solana News Today: DATs and ETFs Drive ETH and SOL to 3x Gains—MUTM Aims for 50x
Analysts have highlighted a significant shift in the cryptocurrency market, with EthereumETH-- (ETH), SolanaSOL-- (SOL), and the emerging DeFi project Mutuum Finance (MUTM) drawing particular attention for their potential returns in the fourth quarter. According to recent reports, ETH is expected to see a 200% return, while SOLSOL-- may double or even triple in value. MUTM, a relatively new entrant, has attracted attention with claims of potentially delivering a 50x return by the end of 2025. These projections are based on a combination of market inflows, institutional adoption, and the growing interest in DeFi innovations.
Ethereum has experienced a strong resurgence, having risen over 190% from its low in April 2025. This turnaround has been attributed to the increasing adoption of stablecoins on the network, which now represent over half of all stablecoin assets on-chain. Additionally, Ethereum ETFs have attracted approximately $11.68 billion in net inflows over the past five months, and the emergence of Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs) has further fueled demand. DATs have accumulated over $10 billion in Ethereum over three months, with these vehicles now holding more than 3% of the total ETH supply.
Solana is emerging as a strong contender to replicate Ethereum’s performance in the near future. The first U.S.-listed Solana ETF, the REX-Osprey SOL and Staking ETF, launched on July 2, 2025, offering staking rewards with a variable monthly dividend of 7.3%. This ETF, managed by REXREX-- Shares and Osprey Funds, marks a key step in institutional exposure to SOL. Furthermore, several major asset managers, including VanEck, Fidelity, and 21Shares, have filed applications for spot Solana ETFs with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). If approved, additional ETFs could launch by late 2025, potentially attracting more institutional and retail investment.
The momentum around Solana has also been bolstered by the launch of multiple Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs) targeting substantial capital inflows. Three major DATs—Sharps Technology (STSS), Pantera Capital, and a joint venture between Galaxy, Multicoin, and Jump Crypto—are raising capital to acquire Solana tokens. These initiatives, collectively, could inject up to $2.65 billion into the Solana network by the end of September. Given that the market cap of SOL is currently less than 20% of ETH, analysts argue that the token may see even more pronounced price movements in response to these inflows compared to Ethereum.
Meanwhile, Mutuum Finance (MUTM) has emerged as a high-potential DeFi project capturing investor attention. The platform is in the sixth phase of its presale, offering tokens at $0.0035, and has already raised over $15.31 million from more than 16,000 investors. Analysts speculate that MUTM could deliver exponential gains in the coming months, with some forecasts suggesting a 45x to 50x return before the full market launch. The project’s innovative approach combines Peer-to-Contract (P2C) and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending models, offering automation and direct lending without intermediaries. Additionally, MUTM has implemented a $50,000 bug bounty program in collaboration with CertiK to ensure platform security and attract further community participation.
The growing interest in MUTM has led to increased competition with established meme coins like Shiba InuSHIB-- (SHIB) and DogecoinDOGE-- (DOGE). While DOGEDOGE-- continues to trade in a narrow range around $0.215 and SHIBSHIB-- faces limited growth projections of 5%-70% by 2025, MUTM is seen as a more compelling investment opportunity due to its utility-driven model and high-growth forecasts. The project’s presale momentum and aggressive roadmap position it as a potential breakout asset in the next bull cycle, particularly for investors seeking substantial returns in the DeFi space.
