SoftBank has acquired DigitalBridge in a $4bn deal, expanding its investments in AI infrastructure. The acquisition includes $108bn worth of assets, including data centres and cellphone towers. The deal is part of SoftBank's mission to develop artificial super intelligence for humanity. The acquisition comes after SoftBank raised $5.8bn for new investments by selling its stake in Nvidia. SoftBank is a major investor in ChatGPT maker OpenAI and is leading the $500bn Stargate project with Oracle to build AI infrastructure.
