BIC, a global leader in stationery, lighters, and shavers, has released its 2025 Half-Year Financial Report, showcasing its performance for the first six months of the year. The report highlights the company's resilience and growth, despite a challenging macroeconomic environment. BIC's commitment to sustainability and education continues to be a driving force behind its operations.
Key financial highlights from the report include:
- Revenue Growth: BIC reported a robust revenue growth of 3.4% for the half-year period, reaching €1,868.3 million. This growth was driven by a 3.3% organic increase, with digital revenue accounting for nearly 40% of the total revenue, growing by 12.2%.
- Operating Margin: The company's operating margin improved significantly, increasing by 17.6% to €307.4 million, a +16.5% of revenue. This margin was supported by strong operating leverage, with 75.8% of the revenue growth flowing through the operating margin.
- EBIT and Operating Cash Flows: EBIT before impairment charge grew by 11.6% to €125.6 million, and operating cash flows rose by 10.7%.
- Geographic Performance: North America and Rest of the World were the fastest-growing geographies, with double-digit growth. The United Kingdom saw a decline of 2.9% due to high comparables, while Asia-Pacific grew by 1.3% despite a mid-single digit decline in China.
BIC's Chairman and Co-CEO, Jean-François Decaux, commented on the results, stating, "Thanks to our unique and well-diversified premium OOH global media footprint, we have recorded robust revenue growth and a strong increase in our profitability in a challenging and uncertain macroeconomic and geopolitical environment."
The report also provides guidance for the third quarter of 2025, expecting a low single-digit negative organic revenue growth, considering the impact of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and UEFA Euro. BIC has committed to releasing its third quarter 2025 net sales and full year 2025 results on its website.
