Smartphones lead as primary evidence source in digital intelligence, 97% say.

Cellebrite's 2026 Industry Trends Report surveyed 1,200 professionals in 63 countries. The report found that 97% cite smartphones as the primary source of evidence, a 24-point increase from 2024. 95% agree that digital evidence increases resolution, but 94% say complexity overloads workloads. 65% believe AI can speed up investigations, but a third indicate policies prohibit its use. Cloud receptivity reached 42%, but two-thirds still rely on physical media.
