SK Telecom Expands Data Centre Plans in Korea and Vietnam, Plans 1GW Capacity in Ulsan

SK Telecom plans to expand its data centre in Ulsan, Korea, increasing capacity from 103MW to 1GW. The company also announced plans for a new facility in Vietnam, powered by LNG. The expansion is part of a partnership with AWS and is supported by a 7 trillion won ($5.11 billion) budget from Korea's Ministry of Science. SK Telecom's AI business reported 32.2% growth in Q3, while the company's overall revenue and operating income dropped 12.2% and 90.9%, respectively, due to a cyberattack.
