Singapore Airlines to cancel some Dubai flights till March 28
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced the cancellation of two key flights between Singapore and Dubai—SQ494 (Singapore to Dubai) and SQ495 (Dubai to Singapore)—until 28 March 2026, citing ongoing geopolitical instability in the Middle East. The suspension, first implemented on 28 February 2026, has been extended due to persistent airspace disruptions linked to regional conflicts. SIA emphasized that additional flights could be affected as the situation remains fluid, urging passengers to monitor updates via its Flight Status page.
Passengers impacted by the cancellations are eligible for rebooking on alternative flights or a full refund for the unused portion of their tickets. Direct bookers can submit refund requests through SIA's Assistance Request Form, while those who booked via travel agents or partner airlines must contact their original booking channel. The airline also advised travelers to update their contact details through the "Manage Booking" portal or subscribe to mobile alerts to stay informed about operational changes.
The cancellations align with broader regional adjustments, including Scoot's suspension of Jeddah services and limited resumption of commercial operations in the UAE. SIA's measures reflect standard industry practices during geopolitical crises, prioritizing passenger safety while mitigating operational risks. The extended suspension underscores the prolonged uncertainty in Middle East airspace, with potential implications for regional connectivity and airline revenue until stability is restored.
