Sima Nan, a prominent "Big V" on the internet, has been fined over RMB9 million for tax evasion.

From 2019 to 2023, Sima Nan evaded taxes by hiding income, false reporting, and other means, and evaded taxes of RMB4.6243 million in total.

The State Administration of Taxation's Beijing Taxation Bureau's Tax Inspection Department announced the handling of Sima Nan's tax evasion case on March 21. Earlier, the tax inspection department found through tax big data analysis that Sima Nan, a well-known blogger, was suspected of tax evasion, and conducted an investigation.

It was found that Sima Nan evaded taxes of RMB4.6243 million from 2019 to 2023 by hiding income, false reporting, etc. In addition, his controlled enterprise, Beijing's Film and Television Planning Center, evaded taxes of RMB753,200 through false reporting of costs and expenses and other illegal means.

The State Administration of Taxation's Beijing Taxation Bureau's Tax Inspection Department has collected taxes, added penalties and fines of RMB9.2694 million in total according to the Personal Income Tax Law of the People's Republic of China, the Enterprise Income Tax Law of the People's Republic of China and other relevant laws and regulations, and all the taxes have been paid in.

A spokesperson for the State Administration of Taxation's Beijing Taxation Bureau's Tax Inspection Department said that the tax authorities will strengthen tax supervision and seriously investigate tax violations to effectively maintain a fair and just tax economic order.
