Silver Spruce Resources Inc. (TSXV:SSE) and partner Colibri Resource Corp. (TSXV:CRC) have successfully completed their 2024 drilling program at the Diamante Au-Ag project in Sonora, Mexico. The program targeted four polymetallic targets, building on positive results from previous exploration programs. This article explores the significance of the drilling program, the geological characteristics of the Diamante project, and its investment potential.
The 10-hole, 1,050-metre drilling program focused on testing new priority target areas and extending previously drilled areas. The program aimed to identify extensions to the El Pillado and La Prieta targets, as well as define new targets based on geological and geophysical interpretations. The drilling program was conducted by Diamond Drills Mexico (DDM) using a Duralite 250B Man portable drill.
The Diamante project hosts numerous historical artisanal and small-scale mining sites, exhibiting geological characteristics of epithermal low to intermediate sulfidation Ag-Au (Pb-Zn), high sulfidation Au-Cu, and potential transition zones within and peripheral to porphyry style Au-Cu mineralization. Sporadic surface exploration since 2011 has resulted in several surface showings comprised of epithermal precious and base metal mineralization (Au-Ag+/-Cu, Pb, Zn).
The 2022 exploration program included a 2,000-metre reverse circulation drill program on Diamante 1 and 2, evaluating four to seven principal targets. The program intersected high grades of polymetallic Au-Ag-Pb-Zn-Cu mineralization with coincident alteration, shearing, and veining. The 2023 program involved geological mapping, rock sampling, and stream sediment sampling, leading to the discovery of two new surface showings.
The 2024 drilling program targeted El Pillado, La Prieta, Mezquite Raizudo, and Calton due to their geological and geochemical characteristics. These targets exhibit epithermal low to intermediate sulfidation Ag-Au (Pb-Zn) and high sulfidation Au-Cu mineralization, with potential transition zones within and peripheral to porphyry style Au-Cu mineralization. The presence of pyrite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, argentiferous galena, argentite, hematite, and probable metal oxides, carbonates, and sulphates indicates polymetallic mineralization.
The Diamante project's polymetallic endowment enhances its investment potential compared to other gold-silver projects. The diversity in metals increases the project's resilience to price fluctuations and can benefit from multiple commodities. Additionally, polymetallic deposits often exhibit higher grades and lower dilution, leading to potentially lower operating costs and higher margins.
The successful completion of the 2024 drilling program at the Diamante Au-Ag project demonstrates Silver Spruce and Colibri Resource's commitment to exploring and developing the project's significant polymetallic potential. The positive results from previous exploration programs and the geological characteristics of the project support the investment strategy for Diamante, as it demonstrates the potential for significant polymetallic mineralization.

As the exploration and development of the Diamante project continue, investors should monitor the progress and potential discoveries that may further enhance the project's investment potential. The Diamante project's polymetallic endowment, combined with the successful drilling program, positions it as an attractive investment target in the gold-silver sector.
