The renewed discussion came after a tweet from The Crypto Basic, which highlighted comments from a top team member affirming the possibility of achieving the one-cent price level [1]. This sentiment was echoed by Lucie, the project’s marketing lead, who has consistently held the belief since 2021 that SHIB could eventually attain this milestone [2].

Lucie emphasized that while the price movement is not expected to be immediate, the Shiba Inu ecosystem is making tangible progress. Initiatives such as Shibarium, ShibaSwap, NFTs, and the play-to-earn game Shiba Eternity are contributing to the token’s utility and long-term value proposition [3]. Additionally, the team is actively reducing the massive SHIB supply—currently around 589 trillion tokens—by using Shibarium gas fees to burn tokens [4]. This burn mechanism aims to gradually increase scarcity, a key factor in supporting price appreciation.

However, achieving a price of $0.01 would require an increase of over 83,000% from the current level. This would imply a market capitalization of approximately $5.89 trillion, surpassing the previous peak of the entire cryptocurrency market [5]. Skeptics argue that without significant supply reduction and institutional backing, such a price target is unrealistic.
