Sharplink Deploys $170 Million ETH Into Linea, Kicks off Ethereum's 'Productive Era'

SharpLink Gaming (NASDAQ: SBET) has deployed $170 million worth of Ethereum (ETH) on the Linea network. This move marks a significant step in the firm's strategy to optimize yield from its large ETH holdings. The deployment is part of a previously announced $200 million staking plan across Linea and affiliated restaking partners.

The firm described the move as a "first-of-its-kind enhanced yield" structure. It combines native Ethereum staking yield with restaking rewards from EigenCloud and direct incentives from Linea and Ether.fi. This deployment is executed under institutional-grade custody with Anchorage.

SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom highlighted the significance of this action. He stated on X that 2026 marks the beginning of Ethereum's "productive era" and a major step in its adoption curve. The firm is focusing on ecosystem partnerships and staking operations as core priorities.

Why Did This Happen?

SharpLink's strategy aims to maximize returns from its ETH holdings. The firm has amassed the second-largest corporate ETH treasuries in the market. It currently holds 864,840 ETH, valued at about $2.7 billion.

The deployment builds on a previously disclosed plan to stake $200 million in ETH. The company aims to capture "highly competitive, differentiated, risk-adjusted, ETH-denominated returns".

The move also follows SharpLink's leadership transition in December 2025. Chalom was appointed as the sole CEO to focus on ecosystem partnerships and staking operations.

Bitmine has now staked 1.03 million ETH, worth about $3.2 billion. This represents approximately a quarter of its total ETH holdings of 4.1 million ETH.
