Singapore Exchange (SGX) is considering a bid for Cboe Global Markets' Australian unit, according to the Australian Financial Review. SGX held preliminary talks with Cboe and its advisers about a potential offer. The future of Cboe Australia is uncertain after its parent company announced plans to sell the unit. The Australian regulator is working with the parent company to find a suitable buyer. SGX attempted to acquire ASX Ltd. in 2011, but the government blocked the deal citing national interest reasons. NZX Ltd. is also reportedly working on an offer for Cboe Australia.
