To generate a SAML assertion for OAuth 2.0 authentication in SAP SuccessFactors, follow these steps: (1) Ensure SAP SuccessFactors is federated with SAP Identity Authentication Service (IAS) and create a SuccessFactors API user with the same username in both systems. (2) Obtain a copy of the SAP IAS signing certificate and upload it to SuccessFactors for trust configuration. (3) In IAS, create two applications: OIDC for generating an IAS token and SuccessFactors OAuth Integration for generating a token to read SuccessFactors data. (4) Configure the OIDC application to allow password and token exchange. (5) Register the OAuth 2.0 client application in SuccessFactors with the IAS signing certificate and API key.
