API Management in SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration uses the on-premise proxy component to securely bridge cloud-hosted APIs with on-premise systems. Technical user propagation is achieved through the SAP-Connectivity-Technical-Authentication header, which differs from the Principal Propagation mechanism used in Cloud Integration. The On-premise proxy component uses the BTP Destination as the connectivity anchor and the X.509 certificate mechanism to map the propagated principal to the appropriate backend user.
