The Sandbox, a leading social gaming metaverse, has unveiled its latest major platform update, Game Maker., which introduces expanded multiplayer capabilities, new layers of immersive gameplay, and deeper collaboration with brands. The update aims to empower the next generation of creators to craft long-form content through interactive games and experiences.
The Sandbox, free to play, create, and explore, is available on Windows and Mac computers. The update to Game Maker, the creation platform within The Sandbox ecosystem, enables creators to enhance their user-generated content (UGC) with improved multiplayer experiences and new gameplay mechanics, along with increased access to content from top brands for building.

Game Maker. introduces robust tools and enhancements like new pre-made Templates and Dynamic Libraries, allowing creators to build faster and smarter on LAND. Partner Assets enable creators to craft instantly recognizable experiences, seamlessly integrating globally renowned brands into their worlds. At launch, partner assets include The Smurfs, Chupa Chups, BLOND:ISH, Care Bears, and Atari, with more collections like Terminator, Playboy, Madballs, Rabbids, MK, and Jamiroquai expected to be released soon.
In addition to creator tooling, enhanced multiplayer features are a major focus of Game Maker., with particular emphasis on improvements to racing gameplay. Expanded Racing Mechanics, Smarter Multiplayer Features, and More Responsive and Immersive Gameplay make for more engaging and dynamic experiences.
The Sandbox will immediately incentivize creators to start building with Game Maker. via Builders Challenge, a six-week program that allows creators to gain SAND based on the player volume and engagement that their experiences receive.
