Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7 at Unpacked 2025, featuring AI-powered One UI 8 with deep integration from Google's Gemini. The phone packs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, an 8-inch main screen, and a 200MP wide-angle camera with night-mode video and new editing tools. The Fold7 starts at $2,000 and will be available from July 25. The Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE have also been released, starting at $900, and the Galaxy Watch8 lineup now uses Gemini AI for health insights. Samsung has also acquired Xealth to expand its presence in connected healthcare.

Samsung has unveiled its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, as well as the Galaxy Watch8 lineup at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, 2025. The event was livestreamed on Samsung's YouTube channel starting at 10 am ET (7:00 pm IST) [2].

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to be significantly thinner and lighter than its predecessors, with a thickness of 4.2mm when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. It weighs 216 grams, making it the lightest book-style foldable phone yet. The Fold7 features larger screens: a 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner display. It packs a 4,400mAh battery and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Storage options include 256GB or 512GB, with a potential 1TB version in some markets. The main camera is rumored to come with a 200MP sensor, and the phone will reportedly be available in blue, black, and silver [1].

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is expected to bring changes, most notably a substantially larger 4.1-inch cover screen. The display wraps around the two camera lenses. The Flip7 is tipped to be significantly thinner than previous models, despite a larger 4,300mAh battery—only slightly smaller than the Fold 7's. Storage options and color choices will mirror those of the Z Fold7 [1].

Samsung has also introduced a cheaper Galaxy Z Flip7 FE model, which is slightly smaller and thicker than the premium offering. The Flip7 is available for pre-order starting at $1,099.99, while the Flip7 FE will cost $899.99 [1].

The Galaxy Watch8 lineup now uses Google's Gemini AI for health insights. The new Running Coach feature assesses your running ability using a 12-minute running test and generates a custom training program tailored to your needs. The sleep tools receive a boost with the new Bedtime Guidance feature, which measures your circadian rhythm to suggest an optimal bedtime for you. The Galaxy Watch8 is also a bit pricier than the previous model, with the base model starting at $349.99 and the Classic's starting price at $499.99 [1].

Samsung has also acquired Xealth to expand its presence in connected healthcare. The acquisition is expected to enhance Samsung's AI capabilities and improve health insights for users [1].

The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 are available for pre-order starting at $2,000 and $900, respectively, with the Galaxy Watch8 lineup also available for purchase. The Galaxy Z Fold7 will be available from July 25 [1].
