Sam Altman Launches Merge Labs to Challenge Neuralink's Brain-Computer Interface

Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO, has launched Merge Labs, a new startup developing a non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) using sound waves and magnetic fields. The BCI, which does not require surgery, will compete with Elon Musk's Neuralink. Merge Labs is seeking $250 million in funding, with a valuation of $850 million, and is backed by OpenAI's venture division and private investors.
