SafePal Announces $3 Million Solana Builder's Grant and Hardware Wallet Giveaway

SafePal, a non-custodial crypto wallet platform supporting over 200 blockchains, announced a $3 million Solana Builder's Grant on February 11, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The program aims to boost Solana blockchain ecosystem growth through hardware wallet sponsorships and marketing support.

The initiative includes $2 million in hardware wallet sponsorships and $1 million in marketing resources for eligible Solana projects. It reflects an effort to explore alternative growth strategies for blockchain projects as competition for users remains high.

SafePal introduced the concept of 'hardware Walletdrops,' where projects distribute branded hardware wallets instead of traditional token airdrops. This approach aims to improve user retention and combat bot abuse.

Why Did This Happen?

Veronica Wong, CEO and Co-founder of SafePal, emphasized that innovative projects on active ecosystems like Solana still need efficient growth initiatives. Token airdrops, while popular, often lead to short-lived momentum or attract mercenary behavior.

Hardware Walletdrops have proven more effective in user retention and combating bot abuse, according to SafePal. The platform tested this approach through pilot programs with several DeFi platforms before the grant's formal launch.

SafePal plans to distribute 1,500 limited-edition hardware wallets during Solana Accelerate Hong Kong. These wallets will be given to event attendees, VIPs, and core contributors, with some allocated through bounty programs tied to ecosystem activities.

How Did Markets React?

Daniel Zhang, Mandarin and Cantonese Market Lead at Solana Foundation, noted that builders are central to Solana's growth. SafePal's initiative supports sustainable adoption through real users while improving security and user experience.

Solana ecosystem projects can apply for the grant through the official SafePal website. Criteria include project longevity, monthly active users, total value locked, community size, and participation in events like hackathons and workshops.

The grant aligns with SafePal's broader involvement in the Solana ecosystem. The platform includes a dedicated Solana DeFi hub within its mobile interface and hardware wallet products. It also supports functions such as buying, swapping, trading, and staking $SOL and SPL tokens.

In June 2024, SafePal integrated with Jupiter Exchange, streamlining onchain trading for Solana users. In November 2025, it expanded into decentralized derivatives with a three-part integration with Hyperliquid, enabling onchain perpetuals trading for assets like $BTC and $ETH.

SafePal plans to deepen collaborations with additional blockchain ecosystems and crypto protocols in the coming years. The Solana Builder's Grant is part of a longer-term roadmap, reflecting the company's commitment to supporting blockchain growth.
