Ryanair shares are near an all-time high after the airline reported better-than-expected Q1 results, driven by higher fares and strong Easter travel demand. Revenue per passenger rose 15% to €51 ($59), with traffic up 4% to 57.9 million passengers. However, the airline is cautious about its outlook, citing delayed Boeing deliveries and potential costs from US tariffs.

DUBLIN, July 2, 2025 — Ryanair Holdings PLC (RYA.L, RY4C.DE) reported a robust first quarter, with net profit surging to €819.9 million, or €0.7659 per share, up from €360 million, or €0.3145 per share, in the same period last year [1]. The Irish airline's strong performance was driven by increased revenue, higher traffic, and higher fares, with total operating revenue climbing to €4.337 billion from €3.626 billion a year ago [1].

The number of passengers stood at 55.5 million, a 4% increase from the previous year, while load factor remained unchanged at 94% [1]. Scheduled revenue increased to €2.943 billion from €2.328 billion, with average fares rising 21% to around €51, benefiting from a full Easter holiday in April and weak prior-year comparisons [1].

Chief Executive Michael O'Leary expressed cautious optimism for the remainder of the year, noting that while the airline expects to recover almost all of last year's 7% fare decline, the final FY26 outcome remains heavily exposed to adverse external developments such as tariff wars, macro-economic shocks, conflict escalation in the Middle East and Ukraine, and European ATC strikes [1]. Additionally, Ryanair is facing challenges with delayed Boeing deliveries, which could impact its fiscal 2026 traffic growth to 206 million passengers [1].

Ryanair shares are currently trading near an all-time high, reflecting investor confidence in the airline's performance and cautious outlook for the future. The airline is well-positioned to capitalize on strong summer travel demand and higher fares, but external risks could impact its profitability.
