Russian Foreign Ministry: Maintaining Russia's obligations under the plutonium agreement with the US is no longer acceptable - TASS
The European Union has proposed imposing sanctions on A7A5, a ruble-backed stablecoin tied to sanctioned Russian actors. According to documents seen by Bloomberg News, the restrictions will prohibit any engagement, directly or indirectly, by EU-based entities in transactions involving the token . Additionally, the bloc is set to target several banks in Russia, Belarus, and Central Asia for enabling crypto-related transactions. The A7A5 token was developed by A7, a cross-border payments company owned by Moldovan fugitive banker Ilan Shor and the Russian state-owned lender Promsvyazbank (PSB). Shor’s A7 and its subsidiaries help Russian businesses execute international transactions. Meanwhile, Russia hosted a delegation of Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban government on Tuesday, issuing a strong warning against a foreign military presence in the country. Speaking at the start of an international meeting on Afghanistan in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov praised the Taliban government for efforts to combat ISIS and other extremist groups, as well as eradicate illegal drugs. Lavrov emphasized that “the deployment of military infrastructure of any third countries on the territory of Afghanistan, as well as on the territories of neighboring states, is categorically unacceptable under any pretext” .
