RTX's Trading Volume Drops 31.57% to 11.67 Billion, Ranks 56th in Market

On June 16, 2025, RTX's trading volume reached 11.67 billion, a decrease of 31.57% from the previous day, ranking 56th in the day's stock market. RTX rose by 0.53%, marking two consecutive days of increase, with a total rise of 3.89% over the past two days.

RTX's Hybrid-Electric Flight Demonstrator program has achieved a significant milestone by successfully testing the integrated propulsion system and batteries to full power. This ground testing, conducted in Longueuil, Quebec, involved a hybrid-electric propulsion system that combines a highly efficient Pratt & Whitney Canada thermal engine with a 1 megawatt (MW) electric motor developed by Collins Aerospace, an RTX business. The 200 kilowatt-hour (kWh) batteries, supplied by H55 S.A., were also successfully charged and discharged using a high-voltage Mobile Charging Unit co-developed by Pratt & Whitney Canada, the National Research Council of Canada, and the Innovative Vehicle Institute. H55 is supported by RTX Ventures, the venture capital arm of RTX.

This end-to-end test marks the first battery-powered operation of the propulsion system, aiming to achieve up to 30% improved fuel efficiency compared to today's regional turboprops. The insights from this project are also helping advance the development of hybrid-electric technology for multiple future platforms. AeroTEC has been selected to support future flight testing of the De Havilland Canada Dash 8-100 experimental aircraft, joining De Havilland Aircraft of Canada, GKN Aerospace, and Ricardo as collaborators on the program.

Hybrid-electric propulsion is a core part of RTX's technology roadmap for improving fuel efficiency and performance in future aircraft. The collaboration between Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace on various technology demonstrator projects, including the Clean Aviation SWITCH project, underscores RTX's commitment to developing sustainable flight technologies. This milestone is expected to positively influence investor confidence in RTX's innovative capabilities and long-term growth prospects.
