Recently, the smart connected autonomous driving work leading group of the Hengqin Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone (shortened as "the cooperation zone") held a working conference to discuss the approval of Lijin Auto to conduct a road test of Robotaxi in the cooperation zone.
Currently, Lijin Auto's first batch of Robotaxi has been put into testing, and the autonomous driving technology will be further deepened and enriched in the cooperation zone based on the existing Robobus and autonomous cleaning vehicles.
According to the "Management Rules for Road Testing and Demonstration Application of Smart and Connected Autonomous Vehicles in the Hengqin Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone", the testing subjects of smart and connected autonomous vehicles can apply for demonstration operation after passing the 1000 km road test and approval in the cooperation zone. The vehicles that have obtained the smart and connected autonomous vehicle commercial operation license in other provinces and cities in China can apply for demonstration operation of more than 1000 vehicles in the cooperation zone, and can enter the commercial operation stage after passing the review.
Lijin Auto's Robotaxi has obtained the smart and connected autonomous vehicle commercial operation license in Guangzhou, and is expected to enter the commercial operation stage in the cooperation zone after completing the 1000 km road test and demonstration operation of carrying 1000 passengers. For this reason, Robotaxi will open an appointment experience activity in the middle and late August, and citizens can register for appointment experience through official channels to become the first batch of experience users.
This is not only another milestone since the cooperation zone opened the road network to the public as a test and application route for smart and connected autonomous vehicles in July this year, but also marks a new stage in the field of smart transportation in the cooperation zone.
