Roam has officially launched its Premium eSIM, a comprehensive mobile solution that integrates voice, SMS, and high-speed data services. This new offering is available in over 160 countries and can be activated instantly through the Roam App, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card or roaming fees. This launch signifies a significant step in Roam’s mission to provide secure, decentralized mobile connectivity to both individual users and global organizations.
The Premium eSIM builds on the success of Roam’s Global eSIM, which previously offered data-only services. The new Premium eSIM expands its capabilities by including voice call and SMS functionalities, creating a complete communication solution for global travelers. Key features of the Premium eSIM include inbound and outbound voice calls, two-way SMS, and 5G mobile data. Users receive an Austria-based international phone number for making calls, sending texts, and verifying apps like TikTok, YouTube, and Grab. The service is billed at local rates upon arrival, with no additional roaming charges. Payment options are flexible, supporting credit card auto-renewals, USDC/USDT, Alipay, and the $ROAM token, which will be available soon. Additionally, users can earn free, never-expiring data by checking in at Roam WiFi hotspots or staking tokens.
Activation of the Premium eSIM service is straightforward, involving a simple in-app process that includes a $20 balance top-up and a quick KYC process, with a $2 processing fee. All balance, data usage, and call records can be managed within the Roam app, reducing the need for manual support. Roam Premium eSIM is not just a mobile product; it is a decentralized communication gateway powered by blockchain technologies. Integrations such as the Solana Attestation Service (SAS) enable Roam to issue globally verified phone numbers, with Solana providing the essential identity certification layer. Decentralized Identifiers (DID) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs) protect user privacy while validating identity and activity on-chain. On-chain loyalty and rewards programs record actions like check-ins, token/points burning, and staking, making them fully verifiable. This technology positions Roam as one of the few projects offering real-world telecom utilities powered by Web3 infrastructure.
With the Premium eSIM now live, Roam is accelerating its expansion into Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia. The company is building distribution and ecosystem partnerships across various sectors, including Web3 exchanges and wallets, DeFi protocols and dApps, OTAs, travel agencies, airlines, and cross-border enterprise networks. Roam’s long-term vision is to make connectivity a universally accessible service, where users can move across borders, activate global plans, and earn value all through one unified app.
Roam is a leader in decentralized connectivity, building a global wireless network that delivers seamless, secure, and cost-effective internet access through WiFi OpenRoaming and eSIM top-up services. By leveraging blockchain-based credentials, Roam enables small and medium-sized businesses to adopt WiFi OpenRoaming, creating a network of over 10 million hotspots across 190 countries. With 2.9 million app users, Roam is the world’s largest decentralized wireless network, empowering users to access free eSIM data while contributing to and validating WiFi nodes. As a trusted eSIM solution, Roam has powered seamless data connectivity for major Web3 events, including Consensus 2025 and the R3AL WORLD Summit, cementing its role as a pioneer in the DePIN sector.
