RIVN--
Rivian Automotive is recalling 35,000 electric delivery vans due to a potential flaw in the driver's seat belt pretensioner cable, which may not properly restrain a driver in a crash. The issue is caused by drivers repeatedly sitting on the belt instead of wearing it correctly. Rivian has pushed out a software update and will inspect and replace damaged parts free of charge. Owners will receive notices by mail on Jan. 19. The recall adds to a growing list of quality issues this year, which can erode confidence in a competitive EV market.
