Ripple Treasury Targets $13T Finance Workflow - Why XRP Investors Should Care Now

Why RippleRLUSD-- Treasury Matters for XRPXRP-- Demand
The core thesis is workflow capture. If XRP gets pulled into corporate treasury workflows, demand could shift from speculative turnover to recurring balances, reconciliations, and settlements. That would be a different quality of demand because it sits where finance teams already manage cash visibility and movement.
Ripple Treasury has a live workflow base to build on. GTreasury, the corporate treasury platform behind Ripple's new Unified Treasury, processed $13 trillion in payments in 2025, while 72% of finance leaders say they must offer a digital asset solution to stay competitive.
The setup matters because treasury operations are no longer just about appetite for digital assets; they are about how to support them without disrupting controls, approvals, or audit trails. That creates a possible opening for XRP if the token becomes part of the settlement and liquidity layer inside those workflows.
The main tension is optionality. Ripple Treasury is deliberately rail-agnostic, giving treasurers a choice between traditional rails and blockchain settlement. That also means XRP is not automatically selected in every transaction, so software adoption does not guarantee proportional token demand.
Buy-side interest is visible, but it is not the full thesis
The treasury-workflow setup matters only if capital is also willing to follow. On that front, the signal is no longer purely theoretical. By late 2025, XRP had become one of the most actively adopted digital assets in the regulated Spot ETF market. That suggests allocation interest is already entering through regulated wrappers, even if it does not by itself prove day-to-day treasury demand for XRP.
The bear case: Ripple can grow without XRP
The key stress test is straightforward: Ripple can grow meaningfully without creating proportional demand for XRP. The clearest evidence is that roughly 60% of RippleNet's 300 banking partners use Ripple's messaging rails without XRP. In other words, enterprise adoption of Ripple's software stack is not automatically the same thing as token monetization.
That is the real debate. Bulls see a large installed base building digital-asset capability. Bears see a software win that still skips the token. The bullish case is stronger only if XRP shows up in the settlement layer, not just in messaging or visibility tools.

XRPL Treasury Proof Points Are Improving
May's treasury pilot showed XRP can sit inside cash-management flows
In May, J.P. Morgan, Kinexys, Mastercard, and Ripple completed a tokenised US Treasury redemption pilot on XRPL in under five seconds. That matters because it links a treasury-related redemption workflow directly to the XRP rail. It does not prove mass adoption, but it does show that time-sensitive cash workflows can use XRP as part of the settlement path.
The new features put XRP inside the treasury dashboard
The most direct proof point is the new Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury features, which let finance teams hold, view, and manage XRP and RLUSD in the same system used for fiat. That shifts the conversation away from a generic adoption narrative and toward measurable workflow capture.
Ripple has also said it plans 24/7 yield on idle cash and inter-company settlements within existing compliance and audit workflows. If those utilities launch and get used, XRP would look less like an optional add-on and more like treasury infrastructure.
What Would Confirm or Break the Thesis
Watch for three signals over the next few quarters:
- treasurers using Unified Treasury to consolidate external digital-asset balances into one dashboard
- evidence that XRP is used for settlements or internal transfers, not just displayed for visibility
- proof that compliance, custody, and controls fit inside existing finance processes
The thesis weakens if digital-asset functionality stays segregated, or if enterprises use Ripple Treasury mainly for fiat control while keeping XRP outside core settlement and cash-management flows. In that case, Ripple Treasury would still be an interesting interface build, but not a meaningful XRP-demand engine.
