Ripple President Declares Regulatory Clarity Key to Crypto Future

Ripple President Monica Long delivered a powerful message at the XRPL Apex 2025 event in Singapore, declaring that regulatory clarity is now the defining factor for crypto’s future. During her closing keynote on Day 1, Long called this moment a “real turning point,” stating that the fog of uncertainty is finally lifting from the industry. She explained that Ripple, like many in the blockchain space, had faced years of hesitation from institutional partners. But this time, Long said there is a difference due to the presence of one crucial component: clear rules. She stressed that years have been spent to get to this position, yet crypto adoption and innovation have never looked better.

Long’s comments represent the general feeling at the conference. RippleX, the developer-focused arm of Ripple, emphasized how regulatory certainty can open up new international opportunities for blockchain. They continued that with the U.S. adopting increasingly pro-crypto policies, interest among institutions is also increasing. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and executive Pat Patel were also featured on the XRPL Apex 2025 main stage. The trio explored how the regulatory shift in the U.S. is creating ripple effects globally, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Garlinghouse stated that many still underestimate how much momentum will be unleashed once the U.S. fully supports crypto innovation.

In addition to the regulatory emphasis, Ripple likewise highlighted significant technical achievements that are currently operational on the XRP Ledger. These are tokenized U.S. Treasuries issued through Ondo Finance and backed by the BUIDL fund managed by BlackRock. They are available around the clock and can be redeemed in Ripple USD (RLUSD). This development is a move to real-time, on-chain finance. Guggenheim Treasury Services has also introduced Digital Commercial Paper (DCP) on XRPL in collaboration with Zeconomy. The new financial product offers the ledger a credible platform for real-world assets, tokenization, and commercial finance applications.
