Rieter Projects 2026 Sales in CHF1.30B–CHF1.50B Range Amid Strategic Shifts

Rieter, a global leader in spinning technology, has outlined a projected sales range of CHF1.30 billion to CHF1.50 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with an estimated midpoint of CHF1.45 billion. This forecast reflects a recovery from the subdued performance in 2025, where the company adjusted its full-year sales outlook to CHF700 million due to delayed customer investments and geopolitical uncertainties.

The 2026 guidance is underpinned by a CHF590 million order backlog as of September 30, 2025, despite a 15% year-on-year decline from CHF690 million in 2024. Key markets have shown growing interest in new machine projects, though many customers deferred binding orders to the 2026 financial year amid trade policy uncertainties. For instance, the Machines & Systems Division's order intake fell 17% to CHF287.1 million in the first nine months of 2025, while After Sales Division orders rose 9% to CHF129.6 million, signaling mixed performance across segments.

Rieter's strategic initiatives, including automation advancements and the pending acquisition of the Barmag Division, are expected to bolster 2026 prospects. The company plans to showcase fully automated spinning solutions at ITMA 2027 and ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce labor costs. Additionally, the Barmag acquisition, pending regulatory approvals, is positioned to strengthen Rieter's position in natural and synthetic fiber systems.

However, challenges persist. The 2025 sales decline of 22% to CHF457.7 million in the first nine months highlights ongoing pressures from weak demand in the Components and After Sales Divisions, driven by customer cost-cutting and elongated project cycles. While Rieter anticipates a return to growth in 2026, the path remains contingent on macroeconomic stability and the successful integration of strategic investments.

This projection underscores Rieter's focus on long-term resilience amid a volatile market landscape.
