Reliance Industries launched Reliance Intelligence, a new subsidiary for its AI ambitions, with four key goals: building India's AI infrastructure, hosting global partnerships, developing AI services for India, and creating a national AI talent pool. The company has partnered with Meta and Google Cloud for its AI push. Reliance Jio has crossed 500 million customers and is targeting an IPO in the first half of 2026. CG Power is investing in the semiconductor space to reduce India's dependence on imports.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced the formation of a new subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, with the aim of driving India's artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and positioning the nation as a global AI hub. The subsidiary, unveiled at RIL's 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM), will focus on four key areas: building AI infrastructure, forming global partnerships, developing AI services for various sectors, and nurturing a national AI talent pool.

Reliance Intelligence will build gigawatt-scale, AI-ready data centers in Jamnagar, powered by Reliance's clean energy ecosystem. These facilities will be designed for AI training and inference and will be delivered in phases to meet India's growing AI demand [2].

The subsidiary has also announced strategic partnerships with global tech giants. One of the key partnerships is with Meta Platforms, Inc. Under this joint venture, a new company will be formed with RIL holding 70% and Meta 30% of the shares. The joint venture will leverage Meta's open-source Llama models to offer a comprehensive suite of AI services, including an Enterprise AI Platform-as-a-Service. This platform will allow organizations to customize, deploy, and govern generative AI models for various functions across sales, marketing, IT operations, customer service, finance, and more [1].

In addition to the partnership with Meta, Reliance Intelligence has also formed a strategic alliance with Google Cloud. This partnership will integrate Reliance's infrastructure expertise with Google Cloud's AI technologies to establish a Jamnagar Cloud Region dedicated to Reliance, powered by clean energy and connected via Jio's advanced network [2].

Reliance Intelligence aims to offer AI solutions tailored for consumers, small businesses, and enterprises. These services will be affordable, reliable, and scalable, with applications specifically designed for sectors such as education, healthcare, and agriculture [2].

The subsidiary will also focus on talent incubation, building a strong base of researchers, engineers, designers, and product creators. The goal is to blend research speed with engineering rigour to turn ideas into real-world solutions [2].

Reliance Jio, a subsidiary of RIL, has also made significant strides. The company has crossed 500 million customers and is preparing to file for its IPO, with a target to list by the first half of 2026. Jio reported a revenue of ₹1,28,218 crore ($15 billion) in FY25, marking a 17% year-on-year growth, while EBITDA stood at ₹64,170 crore ($7.5 billion) [3].

Additionally, CG Power has announced its investment in the semiconductor space to reduce India's dependence on imports. This move is part of the broader effort to enhance India's technological self-sufficiency.
