This service, known as the Beijing-Moscow Integrated Logistics Hub China-Europe Train (北京-莫斯科), will operate at least once a month, starting from July 1, 2023. The Beijing-Moscow Integrated Logistics Hub China-Europe Train, a new direct rail link, is set to commence operations on July 1, 2023, marking the regular transportation of cargo from Beijing to Europe. This initiative, which aims to bolster economic ties and trade between China and Europe, will operate at least once a month [1].

This development is a significant expansion of the existing China-Europe freight train network, which has experienced remarkable growth over the past decade. According to recent data, the number of China-Europe freight train trips surpassed 90,000 in May 2024, serving over 223 cities in Europe and over 100 cities in Asia [1]. This extensive network has become a vital artery for the continuous flow of commodities between the two regions.

The Beijing-Moscow Integrated Logistics Hub China-Europe Train is expected to carry a range of cargo, including household appliances, clothing, and building materials [2]. This initial cargo is indicative of the diverse range of goods that will be transported between the two regions.

The establishment of this new rail link reflects China's commitment to enhancing trade and economic ties with Europe. With the ongoing geopolitical tensions and global uncertainties, the China-Europe freight train service has proven to be a stabilizer, ensuring the resilience of global supply chains [1].

The China-Europe freight train service has also experienced significant enhancements in transport capacity, efficiency, and service quality [1]. These improvements are reflected in the growing popularity of this mode of transportation, with the annual number of China-Europe freight train trips increasing from 1,702 in 2016 to over 17,000 in 2023 [1].

The Beijing-Moscow Integrated Logistics Hub China-Europe Train is expected to further strengthen the partnership between China and Europe, fostering greater economic cooperation and mutual benefits.
