The Central Water Commission has also issued a yellow alert for three rivers—Muvattupuzha (Ernakulam), Achankovil (Pathanamthitta), and Thodupuhza (Idukki)—due to the chances of incessant rains.
Fishermen and coastal residents are advised to remain vigilant due to the possibility of sea incursion, as the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has warned of high tidal waves along the coastal areas of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha from 5.30 pm on Sunday to 8.30 pm on Monday. The IMD has restricted fisherfolk from venturing into the sea along Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep coasts till August 7.
