Rapidus and Keysight have formed a strategic collaboration to improve yield and achieve high-precision PDK for 2nm GAA semiconductors. The companies will leverage Keysight's semiconductor parametric tester technology and analysis solution to advance Rapidus' DMCO concept and develop PDKs. The collaboration aims to improve PDK accuracy and semiconductor manufacturing quality, reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
Rapidus Corporation and Keysight Technologies Japan K.K. have formed a strategic collaboration to improve the yield and achieve high-precision Process Design Kits (PDKs) for 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) semiconductors. The collaboration, announced on August 26, 2025, aims to leverage Keysight's semiconductor parametric tester technology and analysis solutions to advance Rapidus' Design-Manufacturing Co-Optimization (DMCO) concept and develop PDKs.
Under this partnership, the two companies will focus on identifying and implementing methods to improve PDK accuracy, as well as enhancing the performance and yield of semiconductor elements and circuits. Rapidus, which began prototyping 2nm GAA transistors at its state-of-the-art facility in Chitose City, Hokkaido, will use data from Keysight's parametric testers and root-cause analysis solution to develop a PDK compatible with its 2nm GAA manufacturing process.
Keysight, with extensive experience in semiconductor manufacturing process optimization, has developed original analysis algorithms and data formats to improve process control and reduce costs. The collaboration will utilize these tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of Rapidus' semiconductor manufacturing.
Rapidus plans to release the PDK to initial customers by Q1 2026, creating an environment where customers can begin prototyping. This collaboration is expected to contribute to improved semiconductor design and manufacturing quality, as well as cost reduction.
