Rajasthan Police has launched "Operation Sanskar" to combat biker gangs in Dungarpur, focusing on monitoring and addressing their social media activities. The initiative aims to curb criminal behavior among youths, who were previously involved in activities such as stalking, robberies, and assaults, often glorified through intimidating reels on Instagram.

The operation began after the district superintendent of police, Manish Kumar, observed an alarming trend of youths forming gangs and engaging in criminal activities. These gangs, with names like "302", "007", and "Raftar", were known for their flashy bike stunts and online challenges, which often turned into real-life criminal activities. The police have been tracking these criminal reels, flagging accounts, and booking offenders under relevant laws such as the Motor Vehicles Act and the Arms Act.

In response to the growing influence of these gangs on younger audiences, the police have also been using social media to send a strong message. They have been posting memes and reels mocking the gangs, aiming to defame them and discourage others from following their path. These efforts have been well-received, with over 3 million views on Instagram alone.

The operation has led to the seizure of over 300 bikes used for stunts and the registration of videos featuring weapons under the Arms Act. Offenders have been compelled to post apology videos on the same platforms where they once boasted about their criminal activities. Citizens have also started reporting such reels to the police, further aiding the crackdown.

As a result of Operation Sanskar, traffic in Dungarpur has become smoother, women no longer face stalking, and not a single gang war has been reported since the start of the operation. Public support for the initiative has been overwhelming, with many residents commending the police for their proactive approach.
