RadNet has partnered with Regal Medical Group, Lakeside Community Healthcare, and ADOC Medical Group to increase access to AI-powered breast cancer detection. This partnership demonstrates RadNet's traction with commercial payors in EBCD reimbursement.
RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: RDNT), a leading provider of outpatient diagnostic imaging services, has announced a strategic partnership with Regal Medical Group, Lakeside Community Healthcare, and ADOC Medical Group to increase access to AI-powered breast cancer detection. This collaboration aims to boost compliance with annual cancer-screening guidelines and expand quality care to communities across Southern California.
The Enhanced Breast Cancer Detection (EBCD) program, developed by RadNet, utilizes artificial intelligence to detect breast cancer at an earlier stage than traditional methods. The program is designed to improve patient outcomes by reducing the amount of treatment required and minimizing the impact of the disease on patients' lives. The partnership includes Regal Medical Group, Lakeside Community Healthcare, and ADOC Medical Group, which are affiliates of Heritage Provider Network (HPN), one of the largest physician-owned medical groups in Southern California.
Under the agreement, these medical groups will provide the AI-powered breast cancer detection services to all of their mammogram-eligible patients. Additionally, RadNet will launch an ongoing patient-outreach program to increase compliance within these medical groups with annual screening guidelines. The program will proactively contact eligible patients to encourage and remind them to make their mammography appointments.
The partnership represents a significant milestone for RadNet as it secures reimbursement from commercial payors for its EBCD program. This collaboration aligns with healthcare's shift toward preventive services and value-based care models that prioritize early detection to reduce downstream costs. The agreement also positions RadNet to demonstrate clinical efficacy at scale, potentially accelerating adoption with other commercial payors.
Dr. Howard Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer of RadNet, commented, "RadNet and the Regal, Lakeside, and ADOC medical groups share a commitment to early detection of breast cancer and population health screening. One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, making it critical to detect the disease early, when treatment options are most optimal."
Will Jukes, Senior Vice President of Regional Operations at Regal Medical Group, added, "We continually seek ways to bring leading-edge solutions to patient care. EBCD will increase early cancer detection in addition to traditional radiologist screening, eliminating multiple radiology visits and positively impacting patient outcomes."
The partnership highlights RadNet's traction with commercial payors in EBCD reimbursement, validating its technology in the marketplace and creating a recurring revenue stream. With a network of 401 imaging centers across eight states, this reimbursement model in Southern California could serve as a template for similar arrangements in other regions.
