Quark Health's AI Model Passes Chief Physician Exam, Enhances Medical Search

On July 23, Quark Health's large model achieved a significant milestone by successfully passing the written examination of chief physicians in 12 core disciplines in China. This accomplishment makes it the first large model in the country to meet this standard. The "chief physician-level AI doctor" capability has been fully integrated into Quark's AI search, allowing users to access it by selecting deep search when querying health issues. This integration follows the model's previous success in passing the deputy chief physician title examination in May.

In comparisons between specialized and general models, the Quark Health large model demonstrated superior performance, particularly in complex medical reasoning tasks. This showcases its breakthrough capabilities and highlights the potential of developing specialized models in the medical field. Built on the foundation of Tongyi Qianwen, the Quark Health large model has taken a deep engineering approach tailored to vertical scenarios. "We are not training AI to answer medical questions; we are training it to think like a medical professional," said Xu Jian, the algorithm director of Quark Health.

The system incorporates a multi-stage reinforcement learning process, including rigorous manual verification of cold start data, multi-round sample selection, progressive difficulty training strategies, and mechanisms to prevent cheating. Driven by real doctor annotations and "question-think-answer" data sets, the Quark Health large model has not only acquired medical knowledge but also mastered the pathways of medical thinking, evidence integration, and balancing multiple solutions. The underlying authoritative medical knowledge base ensures that the model's output is both professional and timely.

This achievement is backed by the deep involvement of a professional medical team. Currently, the Quark Health large model has a team of over a thousand professional physicians for annotation, with more than 400 being high-level medical experts at the rank of deputy chief physician or above. This expertise ensures that the model's responses are not only accurate but also highly professional.

Thanks to its specialized capabilities, Quark AI search has attracted a large number of medical students and doctors. The platform has over 2 million monthly active users among medical students nationwide, covering more than half of the student population. These users widely utilize Quark for basic knowledge searches, exam preparation, and clinical diagnostic assistance.
