Blackstone, CVC, Permira, and Cinven have submitted initial bids for Cognita, a €6 billion ($6.9 billion) private-school operator in the UK. Veritas Capital has also expressed interest. Cognita's owners, led by Swiss investment firm Jacobs Holding, are seeking joint control with other private equity firms. The deal could be part of a flurry of education sector dealmaking, following a consortium's acquisition of Nord Anglia and Brookfield Asset Management's investment in GEMS Education.
