PPG Industries (NYSE: PPG) has announced a significant leadership transition with the appointment of Joe Gette as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary, effective January 1, 2026. Gette, who currently serves as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Secretary, will succeed Anne M. Foulkes, who will transition to the role of Senior Vice President, Legal and Special Projects. This move is part of PPG's strategic plan to enhance its long-term growth and governance objectives.
Gette, who has been with PPG since 2005, brings over two decades of experience in various legal and corporate roles within the company. His extensive tenure includes serving as an assistant counsel, assistant general counsel for mergers and acquisitions and securities, and vice president, deputy general counsel, and secretary. In his current role, Gette handles corporate secretary responsibilities while providing oversight for the company's corporate development activities and overseeing securities and commercial legal activities for PPG’s U.S. and Latin America regions.
Foulkes, who has been with PPG for 30 years and served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel since 2018, will step down from her role but will continue to contribute to the company in her new capacity as Senior Vice President, Legal and Special Projects. This role will ensure a smooth transition of general counsel responsibilities and oversee certain projects for the company through August 31, 2026.
The appointment of Gette is seen as a strategic move to enhance PPG's governance and legal capabilities. His extensive experience and proven leadership capabilities have been instrumental in driving PPG's transformation forward.
