TORONTO, June 19, 2025 — POET Technologies Inc. (TSX Venture: PTK; NASDAQ: POET), a leading designer and implementer of highly-integrated optical engines and light sources for artificial intelligence networks, has signed a Master Agreement, Module Purchase Agreement, and Deed of Consignment with NationGate Solutions (M) Sdn. Bhd. (NationGate) to manufacture optical engine assemblies in Penang, Malaysia [1]. This strategic move is aimed at meeting the growing demand for POET's high-performance photonics solutions, particularly in data centers and AI networks.

Under the agreement, NationGate will assemble and test consigned optical engines equipped with a custom-designed fiber-attach unit (FAU) for a key customer. The customer has expressed significant interest in the product from hyperscale data centers, highlighting the potential for substantial market penetration [1]. The collaboration is a strategic response to increasing customer demand and POET's need to diversify and secure its supply chain.

Dato Ooi Eng Leong, CEO of NationGate, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that NationGate shares POET's vision for a Malaysia-centered ecosystem for advanced optoelectronics manufacturing. Dr. Suresh Venkatesan, Chairman & CEO of POET Technologies, echoed this sentiment, stating that the partnership's dedication to a shared mission has exceeded expectations and is crucial for scaling manufacturing to meet customer demands [1].

This agreement complements POET's existing manufacturing arrangement with Globetronics, which has already shipped its order backlog of sample 800G optical engines. The company expects to ship its backlog of 1.6T samples during Q3 of 2025, further emphasizing its commitment to meeting customer needs [1]. Both Globetronics and NationGate facilities are undergoing critical qualification processes to ensure continuity and scalability in delivering POET's high-performance photonics solutions.

POET's Optical Interposer-based Optical Engines and other assemblies are designed for applications in data centers, AI, high-performance computing, and telecom networks. The company's Optical Interposer platform offers lower cost, lower power consumption, and smaller size solutions that are readily scalable to high production volumes [1]. This technology is also poised to address bandwidth and latency issues in AI systems and other emerging technologies.

The strategic partnership with NationGate is a significant step forward for POET, positioning it to meet the growing demand for high-performance photonics solutions in the global market. The company's ability to scale manufacturing and secure its supply chain will be critical to its success in the competitive AI hardware market.
