Plutus Launches PLUS More on Base for Tokenized Loyalty Rewards

Plutus, a pioneer in on-chain integrated finance, has launched PLUS More on Base, marking a significant advancement in tokenized loyalty rewards. Since its inception in 2015, Plutus has been at the forefront of tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs) through on-chain loyalty rewards with Pluton (PLU). Over the past decade, PLU has provided substantial in-app savings, totaling over $58 million, and has continued to offer on-chain utility.

PLUS More, the latest addition to the PLU stack, is designed to maximize savings for users of the Plutus Card. Built on Base, an Ethereum layer-two network incubated by Coinbase, PLUS More represents a new era in traditional rewards systems by integrating them into the open, permissionless world of decentralized finance (DeFi). This innovation redefines how loyalty value is earned, owned, and used, all on-chain.

PLUS More is more than just a rewards system; it is a movement that shifts control from corporations to consumers and from closed ecosystems to open infrastructure. It replaces traditional, often forgettable points with tokens designed for practical use. Every year, billions in loyalty rewards go unclaimed due to the fragmented and hard-to-track nature of traditional systems. PLUS More addresses this issue by transforming legacy models into interoperable, self-custodied tokens usable across the Plutus app and beyond.

Initially, Plutus Card customers in the UK and EU will be able to tokenize their rewards in-app and request payouts on the Base network, pending the approval of relevant licensing, which is currently in progress. Once licensing under MiCA and the UK FCA is in place, PLUS token holders will gain access to a growing marketplace of partner perks, travel discounts, and digital gift cards, all powered by smart contracts on Base. This ecosystem will be supported by FUEL, a new on-chain network fee designed to keep the system sustainable by recycling rewards back to customers instead of minting new tokens.

The PLUS More network is now live on Base, with rewards currently issued as in-app points and not available on-chain. Distribution to eligible Plutus cardholders will begin once licensing approval is granted. Additional features, including expanded RaaS capabilities for brand partners, are under development and will be launched once licensing is secured.
