Pi Network Users Face Technical Issues Amid Mainnet Transition

Pi Network, a decentralized cryptocurrency project that has garnered millions of users over six years, has encountered significant challenges as it transitions to its mainnet. The Horizon update, intended to mark a pivotal moment in the project's evolution, has instead led to a series of technical issues that have left many users frustrated and unable to access their tokens.
Despite completing the Know Your Customer (KYC) validation process, a substantial number of users find their wallets empty or their access to tokens blocked. Common issues reported include balances not displaying in wallets, failures in two-factor authentication (2FA) verification, malfunctions in the
Browser app, missing migration data, and prolonged waiting times in migration queues. These problems have created a technical deadlock for many users, who have been waiting for years to access their tokens. The Pi Network Core team has acknowledged these issues and is working to address them before the next migration phase, scheduled for June 28, 2025. However, the lack of specific timelines and detailed updates has only added to the community's frustration. Users like Haifeng Chen have expressed their anger on social media, feeling betrayed after years of loyalty to the project.
Adding to the community's suspicions is the discovery of a crypto wallet ending with "ODM" that holds 276.56 million Pi, valued at approximately $179.7 million. Some users speculate that this wallet is controlled by the Pi Foundation, aiming to manage circulating volumes and prevent a price collapse on exchanges. This speculation has fueled further distrust, with users questioning the project's commitment to decentralization and transparency.
The proliferation of scams, including fake wallets, phishing sites, and app clones, has exacerbated the situation. These fraudulent activities target users desperate to unlock their funds, further weakening the project's credibility. Even users who rely on official tools continue to encounter errors and blockages, contributing to the overall confusion and frustration within the community.
Despite these challenges, some developers and pioneers remain committed to the project's vision and continue to create applications within the ecosystem. However, the growing divide between these supporters and the increasingly disillusioned user base poses a significant threat to the project's future. The Core Team faces the daunting task of restoring trust and addressing the technical issues before the next migration phase, or risk losing the support of its loyal community.
