The second phase of the China-EU Civil Aviation Cooperation Project (APP) was successfully completed.

Securities Times News: According to the website of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the closing ceremony of the second phase of the China-EU Civil Aviation Cooperation Project (APP) was held at the EU's Mission to China on December 17, 2024. At the closing ceremony, the two sides reviewed the implementation of the second phase of the project and exchanged views on the main contents of the new phase. Both sides said that the APP project is the flagship project of China-EU civil aviation cooperation and an important part of China-EU civil aviation relations. The project has continuously promoted mutual understanding and strengthened cooperation between China and Europe based on the spirit of openness and cooperation. At present, the global civil aviation industry is facing new opportunities and challenges. China-EU civil aviation cooperation has a broad market and huge potential. The two sides should further strengthen cooperation to jointly respond to new risks and challenges and continuously promote innovation, realizing the safety, order and sustainable development of the industry. Both sides agreed to start the third phase of the APP project as soon as possible based on the existing cooperation areas, focusing on capacity building and the application of new technologies.

The second phase of the APP project started in 2021, with a total of 38 activities carried out, involving 4596 people from both sides in areas such as aviation safety, airworthiness certification, flight standards, air traffic control and green development.
