Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is encouraging customers to check if they are on the lowest-cost rate plan for their home or business. Customers can use the Rate Comparison tool in their online account to find their lowest rate. PG&E forecasts no additional electric rate increases for the rest of 2025, with residential combined gas and electric bills expected to be flat for the rest of the year and decrease in 2026. Ensuring customers are on the lowest-cost rate can help them manage energy costs during warmer months.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is urging its customers to review their current energy rate plans to potentially lower their bills. The utility company has introduced a Rate Comparison tool available through their online customer accounts, allowing users to find the lowest-cost rate plan based on their past 12 months of energy usage [1].

PG&E has forecasted no additional electric rate increases for the remainder of 2025, with residential combined gas and electric bills expected to remain flat for the rest of the year and decrease in 2026 [1]. However, customers may experience higher bills during the summer months due to increased energy use for cooling purposes.

By ensuring customers are on the lowest-cost rate plan, PG&E aims to help them manage their energy costs, especially during the warmer months. Vincent Davis, PG&E senior vice president of customer experience, emphasizes that switching to the lowest-cost rate plan is a simple process that requires no change in energy usage. The Rate Comparison tool analyzes the customer's energy consumption data to determine the most cost-effective rate plan [1].

A study conducted by PG&E in Fresno County, one of the hottest climates in its service area, found that over 24,800 households could potentially save a total of $13.4 million annually by switching to their lowest-cost rate. Approximately 70% of the reviewed accounts could save more than $300 a year, with some households saving up to $1,000 annually [1].

In addition to reviewing rate plans, PG&E offers several no- and low-cost tools to help customers manage their energy use and bills. These include Budget Billing, Home Energy Checkup, HomeIntel, Savings Finder, and various financial assistance programs for customers struggling to pay their energy bills [1].

PG&E's efforts to help customers save on their energy costs align with the company's commitment to providing reliable and affordable service to its customers.
