Peruvian lender Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP) has agreed to acquire Florida-based Helm Bank for $180 million. The acquisition strengthens BCP's cross-border capabilities and preserves Helm Bank's legacy as a community-focused institution. Helm Bank has $1.1 billion in assets and a loan portfolio worth $648.2 million. Credicorp, BCP's parent firm, has a presence in Peru, Chile, Panama, Bolivia, Colombia, and the US. The deal requires regulatory approvals in both countries and has no completion timeline.
