PayPal Partners TerraPay for Instant International Transfers in Middle East and Africa

PayPal, a leading digital payments company, has announced a strategic partnership with TerraPay, a global money transfer infrastructure provider. This collaboration aims to facilitate instant international fund transfers for PayPal users across the Middle East and Africa. The initiative is designed to enhance the speed and ease of transactions by improving connectivity between banks, mobile wallets, and financial institutions.

The partnership will enable users in the region to link their mobile wallets and bank accounts to PayPal, ensuring secure and convenient money transfers. This integration is expected to simplify international transactions, improve financial connectivity, and foster greater participation in global business and individual financial activities.

PayPal's move to partner with TerraPay is part of its broader strategy to capitalize on the rapidly growing digital payments sector. According to Mordor Intelligence, the digital payments market in the Middle East and North Africa is projected to reach $251.34 billion by 2025 and further expand to $422.56 billion by 2030. In addition to expanding its payment solutions, PayPal has also enhanced its cryptocurrency offerings by adding Chainlink (LINK) and Solana (SOL) to its platform. This development allows users to buy, hold, sell, and transfer these tokens directly within their PayPal accounts. The addition of LINK and SOL brings the total number of cryptocurrencies supported by PayPal to seven, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
