Pac-12 Enterprises and Lumen Technologies are collaborating to reinvent live sports broadcasting. Pac-12 Enterprises will use Lumen's Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) technology to produce and deliver high-quality broadcasts. Lumen NaaS enables real-time, scalable, and high-performance live sports production, allowing Pac-12 Enterprises to scale bandwidth on demand, lower production costs, and deliver seamless broadcasts with fewer boots on the ground.

Pac-12 Enterprises and Lumen Technologies (NYSE: LUMN) have announced a strategic partnership to revolutionize live sports broadcasting. The collaboration leverages Lumen's Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) technology to deliver high-quality, real-time broadcasts for Pac-12 football and other sports events.

Using Lumen NaaS, Pac-12 Enterprises can scale bandwidth on demand, reducing production costs and enabling seamless broadcasts with fewer personnel on-site. This technology allows Pac-12 Enterprises to deliver a superior fan experience by ensuring minimal latency and maximum reliability. The partnership is expected to support hundreds of broadcasts this year and position Pac-12 Enterprises to scale its innovative remote production model as the conference welcomes new schools and expands services for external customers.

Dave Ward, chief technology and product officer at Lumen Technologies, highlighted the significance of the partnership: "Sports broadcasting is undergoing a seismic shift, and Lumen technology is powering it. Live sports broadcasts demand flawless execution - near zero delay, rock-solid reliability, and the power to spin up bandwidth instantly, ensuring fans get a front-row experience with every game, no matter where they are. With our Network-as-a-Service platform, Pac 12 Enterprises can instantly dial up bandwidth - delivering the speed, reliability, and control that modern productions demand."

Michael Molinari, SVP of business development and studio operations for Pac-12 Enterprises, echoed Ward's sentiments: "The ultra-low-latency and flexibility to get high-bandwidth connectivity – up to 10 gigs – when we need it and within minutes with NaaS has been a gamechanger in how we deliver a spectrum of live events year-round. Lumen has been a true partner, helping us pioneer creative solutions and think beyond conventional norms to ensure we remain at the forefront of sports broadcasting technology as the Pac-12 Conference evolves and as our technology needs continue to grow."

In addition to NaaS, Pac-12 Enterprises will utilize Lumen's Vyvx Broadcast Solutions for video acquisition, distribution, and delivery, as well as Lumen DIA and Wavelength services to maintain diversity, redundancy, and reliability at their media production facility. As demand grows for multi-angle content and ultra-low latency streaming, Lumen's network services are poised to play a pivotal role in enabling these next-generation fan experiences.

This strategic partnership underscores the commitment of both companies to innovation and technological advancement in the sports broadcasting industry. By leveraging Lumen's cutting-edge technology, Pac-12 Enterprises aims to enhance its broadcasting capabilities and expand its reach, positioning itself as a leader in live sports production.
